Vanessa Codorniu is a Latina improviser, educator, facilitator and trailblazer in the bilingual wellness space.
Born in Peru to Argentinean parents and raised in NYC, she has a background in film, theatre and communications. As a holistic business mentor with over 14,000 sessions and a thriving online business since 2013, she has made a profound impact in developing the next generation of Latinx and BIPOC wellness leaders. Recognizing the lack of diversity in the improv community, she recently created, coaches, and performs with the first Latino improv team in Central PA, LoS CoMpLiCaDos.
Vanessa has led Improv for Healing Justice workshops at The People’s Convention and teaches Improv for Resilience at Hershey Medical Hospital, along with introductory improv classes at the Harrisburg Improv Theatre. She offers Improv for Business and Communication both online and in-person in NYC. Vanessa has trained at the Harrisburg Improv Theatre, Magnet Theatre, Baltimore Improv Group, Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, HB Studio, and NYU Tisch. Her work has been featured in SHAPE, Telemundo, Univision, iHEART Radio, Primer Impacto, LATN, Refinery 29, HOLA! , BELatina and Hiplatina, among others.
Vanessa is the founder of The School of the Healing Artes and the creator of the Biz Bruja Podcast and Nacimos Mágicas. She has served as an empowerment trainer for the Bella Abzug Young Women’s Leadership Training in NYC for thirteen years, working with over 800 future young leaders. Additionally, she has completed training and initiations as a Ñusta Paqo with The Inca Medicine School and the Apaza Family in Cusco, Peru.
When not teaching or guiding retreats in Mexico, Peru, and the U.S., Vanessa performs with her pop spirituality improv team, Cosmic Trash. The all-female ensemble's Cosmic Trash Fringe Edition was praised by Broadway World in 2023, highlighting their high-energy performance and versatility, with the message: “Be true to yourself.”
She also performs musical improv with, "The Offbeats," character based improv on The Fast Coast Wives and the bi-cultural, bilingual team, All Over The Place, featuring improvisers with international roots.
With a rich background in performing, coaching, and teaching, Vanessa emphasizes the importance of authenticity and emotional connection in her work. She leads workshops focused on cultivating creativity, resilience, collaboration, and inclusivity within the improv community.
